SEO Pricing Gold Coast: What SEO Actually Costs in 2026

SEO on the Gold Coast costs between $800 and $3,000 per month for most local businesses, and $3,000 to $6,000 per month in the genuinely competitive categories: cosmetic clinics, law firms, real estate, accommodation and multi-location trades. On 21 September 2026 we read the SEO pages of 15 Gold Coast and Australian SEO providers live and pulled every price printed on them. Ten published a figure. The published entry points ran from $395 to $3,000 per month, and the median published entry point was $1,000 per month. Five providers, including the agency that currently wins most of the “best SEO agency Gold Coast” answers in AI search, published no price at all.

That gap is why this question is so hard to answer from the outside. Most of the Gold Coast market treats price as a conversation to be had after you fill in a form. So we went and read what the market actually publishes, wrote down the numbers, and put our own explanation of what each band buys next to them. Everything below is either a figure we read off a live page ourselves on 21 September 2026, or clearly flagged as our own view based on running campaigns from Broadbeach since 2001. We also publish our own: Titan Blue SEO starts at $770 per month, and the section on how we quote explains what sits inside that figure and when a campaign needs more.

How much does SEO cost on the Gold Coast in 2026?

Here is the short version, in the bands we use when we quote. These are monthly management fees, excluding GST, for ongoing work rather than a one-off project.

Band Monthly (AUD, ex GST) Who it suits on the Gold Coast What it realistically funds
Single suburb, single service $800 to $1,500 A mobile mechanic in Nerang, a physio in Palm Beach, a cafe in Mermaid Beach Google Business Profile, one or two suburb pages, core technical fixes, a small keyword set, monthly reporting
City wide Gold Coast $1,500 to $3,000 A dental practice targeting Southport through to Robina, a builder covering the whole coast Technical work, new pages written every month, internal linking, local landing pages by suburb, links, conversion tracking
Competitive Gold Coast category $3,000 to $6,000 Cosmetic and aesthetics, law, real estate in Main Beach or Burleigh Heads, accommodation, elective health Everything above plus serious content volume, digital PR, review and reputation work, a named strategist, AI search visibility
National or ecommerce $6,000 and up A Gold Coast business selling Australia wide, or a store with a large catalogue A team rather than a person: technical at scale, category content, feed work, link acquisition, dedicated reporting

Two sanity checks on those bands. The first is that they line up with the independent national research: a July 2026 review of Australian pricing sources put most small businesses at $1,500 to $3,000 per month with local single location campaigns starting around $750 to $1,500. The second is that they line up with what the Gold Coast market itself prints on its own websites, which is the part nobody usually shows you.

What Gold Coast SEO agencies actually publish: our live audit

We checked 15 SEO service pages on 21 September 2026 and recorded every dollar figure, whether the page carried FAQ structured data, and how many Gold Coast suburbs it named. This is our own measurement, not a survey, and anyone can repeat it in an afternoon.

What we found:

  • 10 of 15 pages published at least one dollar figure. Five published none: the market leader’s own SEO page, plus four others. Those five want a phone call before they will say a number.
  • 7 of 15 published a monthly retainer figure with a “per month” label attached, which is the only figure a buyer can actually compare.
  • The published entry points were $395, $500, $550, $797, $799, $1,200, $1,400, $1,500, $1,500 and $3,000 per month. Median: $1,000. The spread between cheapest and dearest is more than seven times, for a service described in almost identical language on every page.
  • Only 4 of 15 pages named three or more Gold Coast suburbs. Ten named one suburb or none. For a service sold on local relevance, that is remarkable.
  • Only 5 of 15 pages carried FAQPage structured data, which is one of the cleanest ways to get your answers quoted by AI search. Nine pages had a visible FAQ section. Several of those FAQs are invisible to machines because the markup is not there.

The chart below is the published entry points, cheapest to dearest, exactly as read on the day.

Chart of the lowest published monthly SEO price at 10 Gold Coast SEO providers, read live on 21 September 2026
Lowest monthly SEO price published by each provider, read live from their own pages on 21 September 2026. Median published entry point: $1,000 per month.

The single most useful thing in that dataset is not the numbers. It is the silence. When five of fifteen providers will not print a price, and the ten that do sit anywhere from $395 to $3,000, the buyer is left with no reference point at all. That is not an accident, and it is worth understanding before you take your first sales call.

Why the Gold Coast price range is so wide

A $395 per month service and a $3,000 per month service are not the same product sold at different margins. They are different products. Agency time on the Gold Coast is roughly $130 to $250 per hour, so the fee is, in the end, an hours calculation. At $145 per hour, $800 a month buys about five and a half hours. $2,500 buys around seventeen. You cannot do seventeen hours of work for five and a half hours of money, so something has to give, and what usually gives is the part the client cannot see: research, technical fixes, genuinely written content, and someone senior thinking about strategy.

Four things move the number:

1. How competitive your category is on the coast

The Gold Coast is not one market. Tourism and accommodation, cosmetic and aesthetic clinics, law, and real estate in the beachside suburbs are fought over by businesses with real budgets, because the value of one booking, one case or one listing is high. A domestic cleaner in Ormeau and a cosmetic surgeon in Bundall are chasing wildly different levels of difficulty. Same service name, completely different job.

2. How much geography you want to own

Ranking in one suburb is a small, achievable job. Ranking from Coomera to Coolangatta is not one job, it is a dozen. Each suburb needs a reason to exist as a page: real service detail, real local references, real proof. Multiply that by Southport, Broadbeach, Surfers Paradise, Robina, Burleigh Heads, Helensvale, Varsity Lakes, Palm Beach, Currumbin, Labrador, Miami and Runaway Bay and you can see where the hours go.

3. What condition your website is in

A clean, fast site with sensible structure needs optimisation. A site with years of technical debt, broken internal linking, no schema and a page speed problem needs repair first. Repair is where month one and two of a lot of engagements actually go, and a cheap retainer cannot absorb it.

4. How fast you want to move

Speed is bought with hours. Four pages a month is a different campaign to one page a month, and the difference is visible in results at about the six month mark, not the second.

The useful question is not what it costs, it is what changes on your website this month.

What you actually get at each price point

Under $500 per month

Be careful here. Historically this band bought automated reports, directory submissions and activity without outcomes. There is now a legitimate version, where a strategist configures a plan once and software executes the repetitive parts, but you should ask exactly which it is. Two questions separate them: who chose the keyword strategy, and what will physically change on my website this month? If the answer to the second is “we will send you a report”, you are buying a report.

$800 to $1,500 per month

This is a real, narrow campaign. One suburb or one service, a short keyword list, Google Business Profile done properly, on-page fixes, and someone accountable. It works for a genuinely local business with limited competition. It does not work if you want the whole coast, and an honest agency will tell you that before you sign.

$1,500 to $3,000 per month

The band most Gold Coast businesses actually need. Technical, content and authority work happening together, new pages every month, suburb coverage that expands over time, conversion tracking so you know what an enquiry costs, and a strategist who knows your market. This is where SEO usually stops feeling like a subscription and starts feeling like a channel.

$3,000 to $6,000 per month

Competitive categories and multi-location businesses. Content at volume, digital PR and links that are earned rather than bought, review generation, and increasingly an explicit AI search workstream. If you are a cosmetic clinic in Broadbeach or a law firm in Southport, this is the entry point to compete, not the premium tier.

Retainer, project or hourly?

Model Typical Gold Coast range Best for Watch out for
Monthly retainer $800 to $6,000+ per month Ongoing ranking growth, which compounds Long lock-ins with no exit, vague deliverables
One-off technical audit $1,500 to $5,000 Diagnosing a specific problem or a traffic drop Audits that end in a PDF nobody implements
Migration or replatform SEO $3,000 to $10,000 Redirect mapping and protecting rankings through a rebuild Skipping it entirely, which is how sites lose traffic overnight
Hourly consulting $130 to $250 per hour Teams with an in-house marketer who can implement Advice with nobody accountable for the outcome

Two practical notes. Almost every Australian agency quotes ex GST, so a $2,500 retainer invoices at $2,750; if you are registered you claim it back, which makes it a cash flow question rather than a cost. And ad spend is separate: an SEO fee is fees only, unlike Google Ads management where you are also funding the clicks.

Does SEO cost more in some Gold Coast suburbs than others?

Not directly. Nobody charges by postcode. What changes is the difficulty of the job, and difficulty does cluster by suburb, because industries cluster by suburb. Here is how we think about the coast when we scope a campaign.

Area What dominates the local search competition Realistic scoping note
Surfers Paradise, Main Beach, Broadbeach Accommodation, dining, tourism operators, cosmetic and aesthetic clinics Highest difficulty on the coast. Expect the competitive band, plus review volume to matter as much as content
Southport, Bundall, Benowa Professional services, legal, medical, finance, government adjacent Competitive and high value per lead. Authority signals and named expertise carry unusual weight
Burleigh Heads, Miami, Mermaid Beach, Palm Beach Hospitality, boutique retail, allied health, creative and trades Moderate to competitive. Brand and reviews often beat raw content volume here
Robina, Varsity Lakes, Mudgeeraba Family services, allied health, education, home services Moderate. A well built single suburb campaign genuinely works
Coomera, Pimpama, Ormeau, Upper Coomera New build trades, childcare, medical centres following the growth corridor Lower difficulty, fast growing demand. The best value per dollar on the coast right now
Helensvale, Hope Island, Runaway Bay, Labrador Retail, marine, retirement and health services Moderate. Multi suburb coverage matters because catchments overlap
Currumbin, Tugun, Coolangatta and across to Tweed Heads Tourism, trades, health, plus cross border search behaviour The border makes this its own job. Queensland and New South Wales intent behave differently

The cross border catchment is the detail most templated campaigns miss. A business in Coolangatta serving Tweed Heads is competing in two states’ search results with one Google Business Profile, and the fix is structural, not a keyword.

How to work out whether the price is worth it

Do not compare SEO quotes to each other. Compare them to the value of the customers they would need to win. One line of arithmetic settles most quotes:

Monthly fee divided by (average customer value multiplied by your close rate) equals the number of enquiries a month it has to produce to break even.

A trade business in Nerang with an average job of $900 and a close rate of one in three needs a shade under six enquiries a month to break even on a $1,800 retainer. A cosmetic clinic in Broadbeach with an average client value of $4,000 needs one. A cafe with a $28 average spend needs a different channel entirely, and any agency that will not say so is selling, not advising.

Two things to add to the arithmetic. First, lifetime value: a physio client is not one appointment. Second, time: search work compounds, so judge it at six to twelve months, not at week eight. If a plausible break even is more than twelve months away on your own numbers, the quote is wrong for your business, or SEO is not your next best dollar. Both are fine answers.

What should be in a Gold Coast SEO quote

The published price tells you very little on its own. These are the line items that actually determine whether you get value, and the ones we would insist on seeing in writing:

  • Hours or output, stated. Either a number of hours or a specific monthly output: pages published, technical items fixed, links earned. “Ongoing optimisation” is not a deliverable.
  • Who does the work. Named strategist, and whether content and technical work happen locally or offshore. Neither is automatically wrong; not knowing is.
  • Google Business Profile included. For any local Gold Coast business this is not optional, and Google’s own guidance on what improves local ranking is public reading.
  • Technical scope and who implements it. Plenty of retainers deliver recommendations and leave implementation to your web developer, which means a second invoice.
  • Conversion tracking. If nobody can tell you what an enquiry costs by month three, the reporting is decoration.
  • Content ownership and link ownership. You should keep the pages. You should know what happens to links if you leave.
  • Contract terms and exit. An initial term is reasonable, because nothing meaningful happens in four weeks. A twelve month lock-in with no performance review is not.
  • An AI search workstream. In 2026 this is the line item that separates a current campaign from a 2019 campaign. More on that next.

Red flags worth walking away from: guaranteed number one rankings, a fixed number of “backlinks per month”, reporting that only ever shows keyword positions and never enquiries, and a refusal to name what will change on your website this month.

The line item most Gold Coast quotes are still missing: AI search

Here is the shift that changes what you should be paying for. A growing share of buying research now happens inside an answer rather than a list of links. Someone asks ChatGPT which physio in Burleigh Heads is best, or reads a Google AI Overview instead of clicking through to ten websites. Google’s own announcement of AI Overviews made the direction explicit. In those answers there is no page two. There is a shortlist of two or three businesses, and either you are named or you are invisible.

This is measurable, and we measure it every week on ourselves and on our clients. Our AI visibility tracking runs a fixed set of Gold Coast buying-intent prompts across several answer engines and records which businesses get recommended by name. Two patterns have held for weeks. The recommendations concentrate hard: one or two agencies take a large share of every answer and everyone else appears once. And the domain being quoted often is not the one with the best rankings, it is the one whose pages state answers plainly. That is a scoreboard almost nobody on the Gold Coast is keeping, and it is now part of what you are buying when you pay for search.

Two things follow for pricing. The first is that answer engines quote pages that state answers plainly and mark them up so machines can read them. Our audit found only five of fifteen Gold Coast SEO pages carry FAQPage structured data, even though nine display an FAQ. That is a cheap, structural advantage sitting unclaimed. The second is that AI answers about local businesses lean heavily on your Google Business Profile, your reviews and third party mentions, not just your website. A retainer that only touches your website is optimising for half the market.

So when you compare two quotes at $2,000 a month, the real question is not which one is cheaper. It is which one includes answer engine optimisation and generative engine optimisation as actual work with actual tracking, and which one is quietly still selling the 2019 product. Anyone can promise rankings. Being the business an AI engine names is a different build, and it starts with how the site is structured. How we quote at Titan Blue

Titan Blue SEO starts at $770 per month. That is a real entry point rather than a teaser: at that level you get ongoing on-page and technical work, Google Business Profile management, monthly published content and AI search visibility tracking for a focused target, which is one suburb and one core service. It suits a single location business in a low to medium competition category. Above that we quote into the bands at the top of this article, because a cosmetic clinic in Broadbeach and a plumber in Ormeau are not the same job at any price.

We publish that number for the same reason this article exists. Five of the fifteen provider pages we read on 21 September 2026 would not tell you what anything costs, and we did not want to write about that problem while being part of it. What we do not publish is a fixed package list, because every quote we have written came out different after we looked at the site. So here is the method instead, and you can hold us to it.

We start with an audit of your site, your Google Business Profile, your current rankings and, critically, your AI visibility for the prompts your buyers actually use. Then we scope the hours the job needs and quote them, starting at $770 per month and moving into the bands at the top of this article when the category demands it. If your numbers do not support the band your category needs, we say so rather than selling you a smaller version that cannot work. We have been doing this from Broadbeach since 2001 and the campaigns that fail are almost always the ones that were underscoped at the start to fit a price.

What that means in practice: no lock-in beyond an initial term, a named strategist, deliverables written down, conversion tracking from month one, and AI search included rather than sold as an upgrade. If that is useful, our SEO services page has the detail and our contact page is the fastest way to get a scoped number rather than a range.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does SEO cost on the Gold Coast?

Most Gold Coast businesses pay $800 to $3,000 per month for SEO, and $3,000 to $6,000 per month in competitive categories like cosmetic clinics, law, real estate and accommodation. When we read 15 Gold Coast and Australian SEO provider pages live on 21 September 2026, ten published a price and the median published entry point was $1,000 per month, with figures ranging from $395 to $3,000.

Why do some Gold Coast agencies not publish SEO prices?

Five of the 15 pages we checked on 21 September 2026 published no dollar figure at all. The usual reasons are that scope genuinely varies and that a sales conversation converts better than a price list. Both can be true, but it leaves buyers without a reference point, which is why the published range is so wide.

Is $500 a month enough for SEO on the Gold Coast?

Rarely, and only for a very narrow job. At Gold Coast agency rates of roughly $130 to $250 per hour, $500 buys two to four hours of work a month. That can maintain a Google Business Profile and make small on-page fixes in a low competition suburb. It cannot fund technical work, monthly content and authority building together, which is what moves competitive rankings.

How long before SEO pays for itself?

Expect early movement in three to six months and meaningful commercial return between six and twelve months, depending on competition and the state of your site. Work out your own break even first: monthly fee divided by average customer value multiplied by your close rate gives you the enquiries per month the campaign has to produce.

Do SEO prices include GST?

Usually not. Almost every Australian agency, including the Gold Coast providers we checked, quotes excluding GST, so a $2,500 retainer invoices at $2,750. If your business is registered for GST you claim it back, so it is a cash flow consideration rather than an extra cost. Always confirm which way a quote is stated.

Is SEO cheaper in some Gold Coast suburbs?

Nobody prices by postcode, but difficulty varies sharply by area because industries cluster. Surfers Paradise, Main Beach, Broadbeach, Southport and Bundall carry the most competitive categories, so campaigns there need the higher bands. The northern growth corridor around Coomera, Pimpama and Ormeau is currently the best value per dollar on the coast.

Should I pay a retainer or a one-off project fee?

Ranking growth is ongoing work, so most Gold Coast campaigns run as monthly retainers. One-off fees suit defined jobs: a technical audit typically runs $1,500 to $5,000, and migration SEO to protect rankings through a rebuild runs $3,000 to $10,000. Hourly consulting at $130 to $250 per hour suits businesses with someone in-house to implement.

What should an SEO quote include in 2026 that it did not in 2020?

An explicit AI search workstream. Buyers increasingly get a shortlist from ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity or Gemini instead of a page of links, and those answers draw on structured content, your Google Business Profile and your reviews. A 2026 quote should name answer engine optimisation and generative engine optimisation as deliverables, and report on whether AI engines actually name your business.

What does Titan Blue charge for SEO on the Gold Coast?

Titan Blue SEO starts at $770 per month. That entry point covers ongoing on-page and technical work, Google Business Profile management, monthly published content and AI search visibility tracking for one suburb and one core service, which suits a single location business in a low to medium competition category. Campaigns that need to compete across the whole Gold Coast, or that sit in cosmetic, legal, real estate or accommodation, are quoted into the higher bands after we audit the site, the rankings and the AI visibility. Prices exclude GST.

How do I compare two Gold Coast SEO quotes fairly?

Ignore the headline number and compare four things: the hours or specific monthly output, who does the work and where, whether technical implementation is included or handed back to your web developer, and whether conversion tracking and AI visibility reporting are in scope. Two $2,000 quotes can differ by a factor of three in real delivered hours.

The short answer, one more time

Budget $800 to $1,500 a month for one suburb and one service, $1,500 to $3,000 to compete across the Gold Coast properly, and $3,000 to $6,000 if you are in cosmetic, legal, real estate or accommodation. Judge the quote against the customers it needs to win rather than against the next quote. Ask exactly what changes on your website each month, and ask whether AI search is in scope or absent. The market’s own published prices run from $395 to $3,000, which tells you the number on the page is the least informative part of the decision. Ours starts at $770 per month and is published for exactly that reason.

If you want the specific number for your business rather than a band, we will audit the site and your AI visibility first and then quote the hours the job actually needs. Talk to our team in Broadbeach.
