Best Gym Website Design Agencies in Australia: 7 Compared

Last updated:

The best gym website design agencies in Australia in 2026 are Titan Blue Australia (Gold Coast, for gyms that want a WordPress site built to be found in Google and AI answers), Crush It Digital (a fitness specialist founded by a former PT and studio owner), Thrive Web (Burleigh Heads, with a deep sport and fitness portfolio), Theme Press (WordPress fitness sites with suburb based local SEO), DIGITALON (Sunshine Coast, packaged WordPress builds), Custom Web Creations (hand-coded sites with booking platform integrations) and B Creative Studio (Gold Coast, branding plus website for smaller studios). The right pick depends on whether you need a brand, a booking flow, local search reach, or all three.

We are on this list, and we put ourselves first. We say that up front so you can read the rest with that in mind. Every other agency below was picked because its own website shows real fitness work or a dedicated fitness offer, and every claim about them comes from their own published pages, which we opened and read on 4 October 2026. We have deliberately left out pricing for every agency, including ourselves: quotes depend on scope, and a number in a blog post ages badly.

Key Takeaways

  • Seven Australian agencies with a visible fitness offer made the list, four of them based in South East Queensland.
  • All 7 agency fitness pages we checked loaded and carried exactly one H1 heading, but only 5 of 7 used a tap-to-call phone link.
  • Only 3 of the 7 pages published question and answer structured data that AI engines and Google can read directly.
  • Ask every agency to show a live gym or studio site they built, and how your timetable will appear as readable text, not only inside a widget.
  • A specialist knows fitness; a full-service agency covers search, ads and AI visibility too. Decide which gap is bigger for your gym.

How Did We Choose and Compare These Agencies?

We chose agencies that publish a dedicated gym, fitness or sport page, or a named fitness case study, on their own Australian website. That filter matters, because almost every web agency will say yes to a gym. Far fewer can show you a studio, a box or a club they actually built for.

The shortlist came from live web searches for gym and fitness website design across Australia, the Gold Coast, Sydney and Melbourne on 4 October 2026. From the results we removed directories, overseas agencies, and pages that were offline or still under construction when we checked. One Melbourne agency’s fitness page showed only a “coming soon” holding message, so it did not make the cut this time.

For each remaining agency we read the fitness page in full and noted four things:

  • Fitness proof: named gyms, studios or sport clients shown on the page, or a testimonial from one.
  • Who it suits: solo PTs, boutique studios, multi-site clubs or sport organisations.
  • Platform: WordPress, Squarespace, hand-coded, or “whatever you already use”.
  • Search readiness of the page itself: a single H1, a tap-to-call link, a visible FAQ and structured data, checked from the raw HTML.

The last check is not a judgement on the quality of anyone’s design work. It is a quick look at whether the agency’s own fitness page practises the basics that help a page get understood by Google and quoted by AI engines. If you are hiring someone to make your gym findable, that is a fair thing to look at.

Which Gym Website Agencies Made the List? Quick Comparison

Here is the short version. Each agency gets its own section below with what stands out and the honest trade-off.

1. Titan Blue Australia

Titan Blue is a Broadbeach digital agency founded in 2001 by Richie and Angela Zengoski. We build WordPress websites and run SEO, answer engine optimisation (AEO), Google Ads and Meta Ads under one roof, which is the main reason a gym would pick us over a fitness specialist.

Where it fits best

We suit gyms, studios and multi-location clubs that see the website as the centre of their marketing rather than a brochure. If you want the same team to build the site, write the class and service pages, set up the structured data, run local search and manage your Google Ads and Meta Ads, that is what we do every day. See our web design service and business website design pages for the detail.

What stands out

Our difference is that we build for AI search from the first wireframe. Any agency can design a beautiful gym website. We build gym websites that AI engines can read, quote and recommend: hours and timetables published as text, the business described as a gym in structured data, one clear heading per page, and facts that match your Google Business Profile word for word. Our AEO web design guide explains the whole approach.

We also publish our homework. Our gym and fitness website design guide includes a live audit of eight Gold Coast gym homepages, which found that only two of eight described themselves as a gym in their structured data. Clients review us on Google too: we hold a 5.0 rating across 64 Google reviews on our reviews page. One reviewer, Kate Gladdin, wrote that she worked with Richie “for over 10 years on our foundation’s website” and found him “professional, reliable, and incredibly easy to work with”.

The trade-off

We are a full-service agency, not a fitness-only shop. If all you want is a quick single page for a solo PT, or someone to rebuild your booking automations inside your studio software, a specialist on this list may be a faster fit. We also do not publish package prices for websites, because a single studio and a five-location club are different projects. We scope it after a conversation.

2. Crush It Digital

Crush It Digital is a fitness and wellness specialist run by a founder who says they spent 20 years in fitness “as a PT, studio owner, and growth marketer” before starting the business. That lived experience is the whole pitch, and for the right studio it is a strong one.

Where it fits best

Studios and trainers whose biggest problem is the gap between the website and the booking platform. The homepage is blunt about it: “the handoff from your site to the booking page is where you lose half the people who clicked.” The service covers the site, the booking flow and the automations around it, such as welcome sequences, no-show follow-ups and trial-to-member nurtures.

What stands out

  • Fitness-only focus, split into gyms and PTs, wellness freelancers and wellness studios.
  • Works on the platform you already use, rather than forcing a rebuild.
  • A free audit offer and a monthly retainer option for ongoing support.

The trade-off

The site is written in the first person (“I design and build the whole thing”), so you are hiring one specialist rather than a team. Its own homepage is built on Squarespace, carried only basic WebSite structured data when we checked, and had no tap-to-call link. If local search and AI visibility matter as much as your booking flow, ask how those will be handled on your build.

3. Thrive Web

Thrive Web is a full-service agency in Burleigh Heads on the Gold Coast, with one of the deepest sport and fitness portfolios we found. Its sport and fitness page lists real projects with case studies, which is exactly what you want to see.

Where it fits best

Sport brands, clubs, events and boutique studios that want a polished, visual WordPress build. The portfolio covers SWAY Pilates (brand identity and website for a Gold Coast Pilates studio), Essentials Studio (reformer, barre and boxing), Tacfit Solutions, Evolt 360, Gold Coast Little Athletics, Active and Healthy Alliance and the FIM World Supercross Championship.

What stands out

  • Named fitness and sport case studies you can click through and check.
  • Custom WordPress themes managed with a custom field plugin, which the agency says needs “almost no training to use”.
  • WooCommerce and Shopify capability for gyms selling merchandise or programs.
  • A tap-to-call link, a visible FAQ and Organization structured data on its fitness page.

The trade-off

Sport and fitness is one of more than 20 industries Thrive serves, and a good part of the portfolio is sport events and brands rather than everyday gyms. If you run a single-site 24/7 gym, ask to see work closest to your model and how they handle class timetables and booking integrations.

4. Theme Press

Theme Press is an Australian WordPress studio with one of the most thorough fitness service pages on this list. It covers gyms, personal trainers, Pilates, yoga, martial arts and reformer studios, and its page is clearly built around how people search for fitness close to home.

Where it fits best

Gyms and PTs whose growth depends on suburb searches such as “pilates studio near me” or “personal trainer” plus a suburb. The page describes suburb based landing pages, program pages, trainer profiles, transformation galleries and integrated class timetables, all linked together to support local SEO.

What stands out

  • A long, specific fitness page with a visible FAQ and question and answer structured data behind it.
  • Breadcrumb structured data and a tap-to-call link on the page.
  • Integrations for class booking systems, timetables, calendars and membership sign-up funnels.
  • The agency says it is “trusted by 400+ Australian businesses”.

The trade-off

The testimonials on the fitness page come from consulting, events and other businesses rather than gyms, and the page does not name a fitness client. That does not mean they lack fitness work, but you should ask to see a live gym or studio build before you commit.

5. DIGITALON

DIGITALON is a Sunshine Coast agency with an in-house team that designs, builds, hosts and supports WordPress websites. Its gym website design page is one of the most careful we read: it is written around what a first-time visitor needs to know before joining.

Where it fits best

Gyms, sporting clubs and community programs that want a clearly scoped build and a predictable process. The page sets out seven steps, from choosing a package through to launch with admin training, and says no stage starts until you have signed off the one before.

What stands out

  • Packaged tiers of 5, 10 and 20 pages, with SEO setup from the Standard tier and what it calls “GEO setup” in Premium.
  • Practical advice on first-visit pages, current timetables and keeping expired dates off the site.
  • A sensible line on claims: the site “should not guarantee a physical result” for members.
  • A testimonial from Haven Yoga, a Sunshine Coast studio.

The trade-off

Bookings, memberships, payments and ongoing SEO are scoped separately, so the base package is an information website. That is honest, but if online joins and class bookings are the point of your project, get those items quoted up front.

6. Custom Web Creations

Custom Web Creations builds hand-coded websites for personal trainers, gyms and studios across Australia, and its fitness page is the most specific about booking software. It names Mindbody, Glofox, Hapana, Xplor, Vagaro and ClassPass as platforms it embeds timetables and sign-ups from.

Where it fits best

Solo PTs and studios that want a fast, conversion-focused site live quickly, built around a free trial or intro offer and connected to the booking platform they already pay for.

What stands out

  • A long list of fitness formats it builds for, from CrossFit boxes and F45 style studios to mums and bubs programs.
  • Service, offer catalogue and question and answer structured data on its own fitness page, plus a tap-to-call link.
  • Custom portals, booking systems and ecommerce built without Shopify or WooCommerce.

The trade-off

The recent work shown on its fitness page was from other industries (a law firm, a home builder, a mechanic and more), all built in React. Hand-coded sites can be very fast, but ask how you will update classes, coaches and offers yourself after launch, and ask to see a live fitness site they built.

7. B Creative Studio

B Creative Studio is a Gold Coast branding and web design studio founded in 2021 by Marilia, a brand strategist, graphic designer and web designer. It is a good fit when a newer studio needs its brand and website built together.

Where it fits best

New or growing studios that do not yet have a settled brand. The studio covers positioning, messaging, logo and brand guidelines alongside a WordPress website, and can build Kajabi or LearnDash platforms for gyms that sell online programs or memberships.

What stands out

Its CrossFit Haapu case study is a clear example of a gym brief done well: a custom WordPress site with the class timetable displayed directly on the site, enquiry and membership sign-up forms, image optimisation for fast loading, and help getting the gym’s own photography web ready.

The trade-off

It is a small studio with one fitness case study on show, and it does not position itself as a search or advertising agency. If you need ongoing SEO, Google Ads or AI visibility work after launch, plan who will own that.

What Did the Agencies’ Own Fitness Pages Show?

We fetched each agency’s fitness page (or, where there was no fitness page, its homepage or fitness case study) with a standard browser user agent on 4 October 2026 and checked the raw HTML. This is a small, one-day sample, so treat it as a snapshot of the page, not a rating of the agency.

Check on the agency’s fitness page Result (7 pages)
Page loaded (HTTP 200) 7 of 7
Exactly one H1 heading 7 of 7
Tap-to-call phone link 5 of 7
Visible FAQ section 4 of 7
Question and answer structured data 3 of 7
Named booking platforms (for example Mindbody or Glofox) 1 of 7

2 of 8 Gold Coast gym homepages we audited described the business as a gym (ExerciseGym) in their structured data. Source: Titan Blue gym homepage audit, October 2026

Two things stand out. First, the basics of page structure are in good shape across the board: every page had a single, clear H1. Second, the machine-readable layer is patchy, even among agencies selling websites. Fewer than half published question and answer structured data, and two pages gave a mobile visitor no one-tap way to call. When the people building gym websites skip these on their own pages, it is worth checking they will not skip them on yours.

For context, our earlier audit of eight Gold Coast gym homepages found the same gap on the gym side. Only two of eight told search engines in a standard vocabulary that they were a gym, and only three of eight published opening hours in structured data. The full method and results are in our gym and fitness website design guide.

How Should a Gym Choose a Website Design Agency?

Choose the agency that can show you a live fitness site it built, explain how your timetable and join path will work, and tell you who looks after search and AI visibility after launch. Design taste matters, but those three answers decide whether the site fills classes.

Question to ask Why it matters A good answer sounds like
Can I see a live gym or studio site you built? Portfolios show screenshots; live sites show speed, structure and how the join path really works. Two or three live links, ideally in a format close to yours.
How will my timetable appear on the site? A timetable that only lives inside a booking widget is often invisible to search engines and AI engines. “As a readable table on your page, with each class linking to your booking system.”
Which booking platform will you connect, and how? The handoff from site to booking page is where many trial sign-ups are lost. Specific experience with your platform, plus a plan for tracking bookings as conversions.
Can I update classes, coaches and offers myself? Gyms change weekly. A site you cannot edit goes stale fast. A short demo of the editor and training at handover.
What structured data will you add? It tells Google and AI engines what the business is, where it is and when it is open. LocalBusiness or ExerciseGym markup with address, phone and opening hours that match the page.
Who looks after the site after launch? Updates, backups and security are not optional on a site that takes bookings. A clear care plan or maintenance arrangement, in writing.
How will we measure success? Traffic alone says little about members. Trial bookings, calls, direction requests and joins, reported monthly.

If after-launch care is the gap, our website care plans cover updates, backups, security and support for WordPress sites, whoever built them.

Should a Gym Hire a Fitness Specialist or a Full-Service Agency?

Hire a fitness specialist if your main problem is the member journey inside your booking software. Hire a full-service agency if your main problem is getting found: local search, AI answers, Google Ads and Meta Ads. Many gyms need both, so the real question is which gap costs you more members today.

Specialists such as Crush It Digital speak the language of no-shows, intro offers and trial-to-member conversion, and that knowledge is valuable. Full-service agencies such as Titan Blue and Thrive Web bring search, content, advertising and technical depth, and can keep one consistent story across your website, Google Business Profile and ads. Smaller studios such as B Creative Studio shine when the brand itself needs building.

A simple way to decide:

  • Your classes are full but admin is chaos: start with a specialist who fixes booking flows and automations.
  • Your site looks fine but enquiries are flat: start with an agency that does search and AI visibility as well as design.
  • You are opening a new studio: start with brand and website together, then add search and ads.
  • You run several locations: choose an agency that can build location pages and structured data for each site, and manage ads across them.

How Does AI Search Change What a Gym Should Ask For?

AI search means your website has to be readable by machines as well as people. ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews and Perplexity build answers from pages they can parse and trust, so a gym site needs plain text facts, consistent details and structured data, not just good photos.

Google’s own guidance is a good anchor here. Its LocalBusiness structured data documentation sets out how to mark up a business’s name, address, phone, geo coordinates and opening hours, and the ExerciseGym type on schema.org lets you say precisely that you are a gym. Google’s guide to creating helpful, reliable, people-first content rewards first-hand detail, which for a gym means real coaches, real classes and real photos of your space.

Speed and mobile experience matter too, because most gym searches happen on a phone. Google explains the Core Web Vitals it uses to measure loading, responsiveness and visual stability on web.dev. Heavy hero videos and oversized photos are the usual culprits on fitness sites.

When you brief any agency on this list, ask for these AEO basics in writing:

  • One H1 per page that says what the page is about.
  • Opening hours, address and phone written as text and repeated in structured data.
  • The timetable as a readable table on your own page.
  • A short, direct answer at the top of each service page, then the detail.
  • FAQ sections built from questions members actually ask.
  • Details that match your Google Business Profile exactly. Google’s own Business Profile guidelines ask for the same name, address and hours you use in the real world.

Our guide to schema markup in website design goes deeper on the structured data side, and our answer engine optimisation service covers how we track and improve how often a business appears in AI answers.

What Should Any Gym Website Include, Whoever Builds It?

Every gym website should show the real space, explain each service in plain language, publish hours and the timetable as text, name the coaches, and make the first step (a trial, tour or intro class) obvious on every screen. Whichever agency you choose, hold them to this list.

  • A clear first step: one repeated call to action such as “Book a free intro session”.
  • Location and access: address, suburb, parking and transport, plus a map.
  • Service pages: separate pages for classes, personal training, memberships and specialty programs.
  • Coach profiles: names, qualifications you can state truthfully, and who each coach suits.
  • Real proof: genuine member stories and Google reviews, shown honestly.
  • A first-visit page: what to bring, where to park and what happens in the first session.
  • Tracking: trial bookings, calls and direction requests measured as conversions.

Our gym and fitness website design guide covers each of these in depth, including timetables, booking platforms and measurement.

What Are the Red Flags When Hiring a Gym Website Agency?

The biggest red flags are an agency that cannot show a live fitness site, promises guaranteed rankings or AI recommendations, owns your domain or hosting account instead of you, or cannot explain how you will edit the site after launch.

  • No live fitness examples, only mock-ups or screenshots.
  • Guaranteed first-page rankings or guaranteed mentions in ChatGPT. No one can promise either.
  • You do not own the domain, hosting or site files. Make sure they are in your name.
  • Timetable only inside a third-party widget, with no readable version on your site.
  • Stock photos of models instead of your coaches, members and space.
  • No plan for updates, backups and security after launch.
  • No conversion tracking, so you cannot tell which channel brings members.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is the best gym website design agency in Australia?

There is no single best agency for every gym. Titan Blue Australia suits gyms that want a WordPress site built for Google and AI search alongside ads; Crush It Digital suits studios focused on booking flows and automations; Thrive Web suits sport and boutique brands wanting a strong visual build. Match the agency to the gap you most need to close.

Should I use a fitness-only web designer for my gym?

A fitness-only designer understands trials, timetables and member journeys well. A full-service agency adds local search, AI visibility and advertising. If getting found is your main problem, a full-service agency is usually the better starting point; if converting visitors inside your booking system is, a specialist may be.

What platform is best for a gym website?

For most Australian gyms, WordPress is a strong choice because it gives full control over page structure, timetables, blog content and structured data, while your member platform handles bookings and billing. Squarespace and hand-coded sites can also work well if you can still edit content and publish your timetable as text.

Can a gym website connect to Mindbody, Glofox or Hapana?

Yes. Most agencies on this list link or embed booking platforms. The best approach is to publish the timetable as readable text on your own page and link each class to your booking system, so search engines and AI engines can still see your schedule.

How do I check whether an agency builds sites that AI engines can read?

Look at the agency’s own pages and live client sites. Check for one clear heading per page, a tap-to-call link, a visible FAQ, opening hours as text and structured data describing the business. Ask what markup they will add to your site and request it in the scope.

How long does a gym website take to build?

It depends on the number of locations, services, coaches and integrations. A single-site studio is quicker than a multi-location club with online joins. Ask each agency for a written timeline after they have scoped your timetable, join path and content.

Does Titan Blue build gym websites outside the Gold Coast?

Yes. Titan Blue is based in Broadbeach on the Gold Coast and builds WordPress websites for businesses across Australia, with AEO, SEO, Google Ads and Meta Ads available from the same team.
